In sharepoint 2010, I have created a calendar for Time off taken. When PTO is approved, the workflow creates an item in the calendar. I set up an overlay in each depts calendar list on their dept site so that it shows only the time off for users in that dept.
Problem I am having is that no one with permissions below "Design" can see the overlay items. All of the users have contribute to the calendar lists but unless I give them Design, they can not see the overlay.
This does not sound right to me as I am not wanting to give that level of permissions to users on the sites or lists just to be able to view an overlay. Contribute should be enough just to see an overlay.
Any suggestions or clarification on how this should work would be very helpful.
