Yesterday I installed Office Web Apps on my Sharepoint 2010 Foundation server.
Server info:
Windows Server 2008 R2
Virtual Hyper-V
I followed this guide: Install and configure Office Web Apps on an existing stand-alone SharePoint 2010 Products server http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff431687%28v=office.14%29.aspx#bkmk_ins_exis_sa
After installing successfully, web apps wouldn't work properly so we started troubleshooting. During the course of troubleshooting we restored the server a couple of times through Hyper-V. Now we've solved the web apps issues, but we're experiencing problems with Central Administration.
1. SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard won't run successfully. Instead of posting the whole log, I'll include the event viewer entrys:
Event viewer entry 1:
Failed to provision the SharePoint Central Administration Web Application.
An exception of type Microsoft.SharePoint.PostSetupConfiguration.PostSetupConfigurationTaskException was thrown. Additional exception information: A SharePoint Central Administration service instance does not exist in the server farm and therefore
the SharePoint Central Administration Web Application cannot be provisioned. A SharePoint Central Administration service instance should have been created when the server was joined to a server farm. To avoid this failure, you may have to disconnect
and then reconnect this server to the server farm.
Microsoft.SharePoint.PostSetupConfiguration.PostSetupConfigurationTaskException: Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.PostSetupConfiguration.PostSetupConfigurationTaskException' was thrown.
at Microsoft.SharePoint.PostSetupConfiguration.CentralAdministrationSiteTask.ProvisionAdminVs()
at Microsoft.SharePoint.PostSetupConfiguration.CentralAdministrationSiteTask.Run()
at Microsoft.SharePoint.PostSetupConfiguration.TaskThread.ExecuteTask()
Event viewer entry 2:
Configuration of SharePoint Products failed. Configuration must be performed in order for this product to operate properly. To diagnose the problem, review the extended error information located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS\PSCDiagnostics_1_9_2013_9_9_11_777_1581611442.log, fix the problem, and run this configuration wizard again.
2. The Powerpoint Web App won't work. It's not looking alright in the configuration, so we want to delete the existing service application and create it again. I get the following error when I try to delete the service application:The topology service is not available in the farm.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if further information or logs are needed.
Almost forgot: The Sharepoint site seems to work just fine in other aspects, no complaints from users. But since I experience these errors I can't fix the powerpoint web app.
Regards,
Fred
