I have a situation where the Task Pane in Datasheet View for lists and libraries does not show the Excel options. This is a SharePoint 2010 farm using Enterprise licensing. Other similar SharePoint farms that I log in to do not have the same issue. All options in the Task Pane are present.
One note - the use of the Excel ribbon command works fine. Data can be exported to a query file by select the Excel icon on the ribbon, either in standard or datasheet view.
I have tested the issue and found that it appears consistently on client compunters running both of the following:
- Windows 8 with Office 2013
- Windows 7 with Office 2010
Note again that everything works for other farms - this one farm is an exception.
Since the Datasheet View and Task Pane options show up for other farms, this indicates that it is a setting on the one where I am getting the errant behavior. Below is a comparison of the normal Task Pane, and the Task Pane without the Excel options. If anyone knows why this occurs, and how to correct it, please let me know.
