Can't view pages sites outside of server

Hi,

I'm new to Sharepoint and this is a new installation.

Just created a new site..works great from the browser that is on my server. But when I open my browser on my local machine and copy in the same site address I get a 404 error.

I can browse to the' central admin' site from my local browser.

Where should I start?
