Saving InfoPath 2010 Custom Edit/Display Form for SharePoint List in a versioning enabled doc/form library

Hi!

I'm using InfoPath 2010 to replace the default edit/display forms for some lists in a SharePoint Server 2010 site.

Unfortunately, after publishing my mods, if I save the Form to a version enabled document library then close it, the form cannot be opened again. InfoPath reports that the file cannot be opened because of several errors in the .xsf file.

I know that my changes are not lost because I can still mod the published template.xsn by creating/connecting a new template to the list.

In the mean time, I'm able to achieve my goal by saving the template to my version enabled dropbox account. But the whole point of being able to save a template to a version enabled document library is to keep eveything SP related in SP. Especially if many devs are working on the same set of files.

So what gives ? Why is this impossible?

I've tried it on 3 different SP Enterprise installations including an E3 Office365 New Team Site ?

Thanks in Advance for your time.
