I installed Sharepoint 2010 and used "wizard" to configure server farm (FARM1). Everything went well and I was able to access site collection as farm admin.
Then I did another installation of Sharepoint 2010 and instead of using "wizard", I manually setup farm (FARM2). I first created a new web application and then site collection. But when I tried to access that site collection, got "Access Denied" error even though I was logged in as farm admin.
I played with Central Administration a little bit and found out if I go to "User Policy" of that web application and add "farm admin" user in it then I am able to access site collection.
But then I opened "User Policy" of web application in FARM1 and saw that there is no "farm admin" added and still it is working fine. Remember I created this farm using wizard.
And when I manually setup farm, I have to add farm admin in "User Policy" of that web application to be able to access.
Why is that?
