new DispolayForm - shows latets Version only

Hi

I've created a new display form (disp1.aspx) using SPD. When i select a previous version in the list, the disp1 always shows the latest version. The original display form shows the correct version but any new display forms created always show the current version.

Any explanations on this behaviour. The URL is the same for both the original and new page apart from the page name of course.
