I have a requirement from a client that when a new site is created, the owner can go in and create placeholders for documents that are expected to be on the site. When members go to the site they can then overwrite the placeholders with the actual document. They want this to be as seamless as possible and for the documents to inherit the metadata applied to the placeholder. The reason they want this is for reporting.. they can view all placeholders within a site collection and see where they need to follow up on users to upload their documents. Anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this?
