We are sales agent company, the Retail department have asked us (IT) to provide them with a solution for scheduling their agents' working time & the store where they are working in, and to maintain a history for the same.
We already use SharePoint 2010 for our company's Portal, its built-in lists, libraries and its ready-made stuff are so great.
My manager wants to do it by utilizing the ready-made stuff in SharePoint with a bit of customizing, and I'm fighting to develop it using asp.net web application from scratch, because I think like these applications should be maintained in a separated database, and SharePoint is preferred over web applications only with its default database, otherwise we will not be able to avoid programming, and programming with SharePoint does not seem to be easy.
I hope that you advise me from your experience.
