Custom list form issues after database resource limit reached

Hi,

I have encountered an issue at one of my clients, where their local development environment's SQL server ran out of resources (I'm guessing database space - they weren't clear about it) which then wouldn't allow us to upload any new items, edit forms, etc.

The issue was resolved, but now we are getting strange errors with custom forms we built for lists. Two of my lists have custom Display and Create forms. Firstly the display form stopped working completely - and after investigation I found that there was an additional XSL list view inserted onto that page which broke it. I proceeded to fix the page and set it back as the default Display form for the list. However, setting it as the default did not make the list use the form - it still defaulted to some other page. I recreated the page completely with a different name, set it as default, but still no luck.

For the Create form on the other list, the form controls seem to vanish off the page. We recreate the form from scratch, add the controls, check that it looks fine and then after setting it as the default create form, the controls disappear again.

Both of these forms also fail to appear in the list configuration page in SharePoint designer. You have to go into the actual Lists folder and find them there.

Can anyone advise as to what might be happening here? The 3 months before the SQL server had the resource issues everything was working 100% and never had any problems at all.

Thanks!
