Archiving mechanism on SP 2010 Survey lists

Hi all,

Is there any archiving mechanism or retention policy in place for the Survey lists in SharePoint 2010?

I have many surveys where users continuously creates new surveys and delete old ones? Once the old ones are deleted there should be an archiving mechanism in to get the old surveys and see their results and so.

Can I specify a date(Deadline) after which the survey cannot be taken or so? 

I am not sure of this in SP 2010.
