How do I upgrade from SharePoint Foundation 2010 to SharePoint Foundation 2013?

Hi,

I have a client who wants to upgrade their WFE server from SharePoint Foundation 2010 to SharePoint Foundation 2013. Would the process be:

1. Backup SPF 2010 content database(s)
2. Remove SharePoint 2010 from WFE
3. Remove SharePoint 2010 databases from SQL server
4. WFE server is formatted and rebuilt
5. Install SharePoint 2013 Foundation on WFE
6. Configure SharePoint 2013 to run on SQL server (How would this be done?)
   
7. Restore SPF2010 Content database on SQL server and upgrade database to 2013 (How would this be done?)

Can the WFE simply be re-built? What if other roles are already in use on this server? From this, can SPF 2013 only be built on clean servers?
