Migration of Content Databases from one domain and AD to a new domain and AD

I have a client who is looking to migrate their current SharePoint environment from DOMAINA to DOMAINB, which will have nothing to do with each other, and no trusts can be setup.  As such, the AD for DOMAINA will not be accessable from DOMAINB.

I have run some tests and got the content databases moved across easily, but the problem is that the security is not working.

The client is using AD Security Groups to permission SharePoint (mostly), so I need to worry about the groups in most cases and not hundreds of individual users.

So if the Site Collection was configured to give the AD Group "DOMAINA\IT Users" access, is there any way to change this so that the site collection now uses "DOMAINB\IT Users" (other than manually updating)?  I can get the client to replicate the groups that exist in DOMAINA into DOMAINB.

I'd like to avoid doing this manually as it could be a major process.

Any suggestions?
