On a client site, we've got some strange behavior occuring in Outlook. We have a Sharepoint contact list that's set up so that people can easily look up contacts from outlook. Seems to work fine but people are reporting that the following message pops up when they're synchronizing their mailboxes (there are two entries - one for Exchange synchronization, which goes through fine, and the other for sharepoint):
Downloading the next batch of new or changed items
The progress bar goes forward then back - after some time the synchronization ends. Some have complained about it affecting their sending/receiving, though I can't be sure this is true.
Has anybody encountered this before? If I were to venture a guess, it would be that Outlook is downloading every single version of the contact list (which changes on a daily basis). Can someone confirm? The strange thing is that versioning
is disabled.
