How do I fix this problem?
User gets the error "The file is not checked out" and cannot check out the file.
We can recreate this issue. First user checks out Excel file and edits the file. Without saving, the user goes back to the SharePoint library and checks the Excel file in. Sharepoint library shows the document as checked in. User still has Excel open and Excel acts as if the file is still checked out.
Second user tries to check out the excel file because SharePoint shows the file as available. Second user gets the error "The file,http://SharePoint/sites/site/filename.xlsx is not checked out". Second user cannot check the document out for editing.
We have other issues with SharePoint and Excel files, but this is one we can replicate. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to fix this?
