Missing Value in a SharePoint List

Hello,

A user has a document library on SharePoint with some basic fields with basic field types.  One of the fields has a 'Location' data type.  On some of the item's in the list, whenever the user tries to edit the item and selects the location for that particular item and clicks save, the value does not show up in the sharepoint list - it is just a null value.  I even tried setting the field as required - I clicked on the item, selected the location and clicked saved (so it recognizes that the data has been entered) but still does not show up.  The user tried deleting the item, and readding it, but no luck.  All the docs that are being added are MS PowerPoint's by the way.  I'm not sure if this is useful info or not because on some of the documents the user adds, she does not have this issue.  But on other documents she does.  Could it have something to do with MS PP's settings?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I have been stuck on this error a while now.

Thanks,

Kyle
