I have a requirement to display company wide events within a master calendar web part located at the root level of an SP 2010 site. As part of the requirement I also need sub sites that have calendar web parts that read from and write to the master calendar, effectively the sub site calendars would only show views from the master calendar, but they would be the same calendar. For example, every company has multiple departments. On the root home page of my company I want to have a master calendar that show's all department events. I then want to have department sub sites, for example an Human Resources sub site, that has a calendar web part within it that only members within the HR department can manage. Whenever an event is created within the HR sub sites calendar, this will also be shown within the master calendar at the root level for users to see.
Is the above possible?
