We have a Sharepoint 2010 site that has a simple list. When we try to 'Export to Excel' it throws an error - 'Excel Cannot connect to Sharepoint List'. The error comes after .iqy file is created and we try to open it. Same error is thrown even when we try to Import an excel spreadsheet as a Sharepoint list. This issue is happening to everyone and on all the sites on this Sharepoint farm (including top-level site). I tried scanning through web.config for any <soapExtensionTypes> tag (as suggested by some of the Google suggestions) but there are none. Please let me know if anyone else has faced similar issue and are there any logs on server that I can check to get details about this error? Sharepoint is running out of a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise version.
