We're having a very exquisite trouble in our PRD environment. Some user is having trouble with User Profile Exception error. After watching the logs we found out that SharePoint is trying to find the UP for the account "domain\_user". Well, that account does not exist, the correct account is "domain\user".
In the check permissions box, if I search for "domain\user", sharepoint tells me that the account has no permissions (despite all users having "Read" permissions through nt authority\authenticated users). If I search for "domain\_user", sharepoint won't be able to get me the Name of the user, however will tell me that the account has the "Read" permissions a regular user should have.
I've asked the AD team to look the user up, but they found nothing. In DEV and TEST environments, this problem does not happen. What is going on here?
