I am using Sharepoint 2010. I have a list which contains a multiline text field which has the "Append Changes to Existing Text" turned on. This option is only allowed if the list has the "Create a version each time you edit an item" selected. All is working well with this, meaning each value I add to the multiline text field is displayed on on its own line with a date and time of the update.
At some point the "status" of the item moves to "completed", at which point the associated workflow copies the current item to a different list and then deletes the item from the current list. The problem I have noticed is that when I view the item in the new list, none of my previous values for that multiline text field are there. It only copies over the value that was entered into the field on the last update (when the item was copied to the other list).
I don't mind so much that the entire versioning for the item is lost, but I really care that the values for the multiline text field that were entered on the previous updates are gone.
Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening (or stated another way.. how I can copy all of the versions for the item to the other list)?
