I have encountered this problem on a user account in SharePoint that had lost his My Links, Tag Cloud, Ask about Me and like to know if there is a solution for this or this is something that will happen by design
I have setup User Profile service application and User Profile syncronization, all are working well, all user see their My Sites and their My Profiles, those with My Content sites also see their.
UP syncronization job (incremental) is running daily and user profile change is updated to SharePoint properly
Here are the senario of how the problem happened.
the UP syncronization connection is setup to scan AD on an OU All Users that have 5 sub OUs - of users for each of our office locations.
The problem happened when I moved user A from OU- All Users to another AD OU from All Users OU and after the syncronization job ran, user A profile was deleted from SharePoint, his My Content Site was still exist.
Realized making a mistake, I then moved User A profile back to the OU All Users and after the syncronation job ran, User A profile is again added back to SharePoint, the problem is now user A can see his My Site and his
My Content site and his profile data but lost his Tags and Notes, Tag Cloud, My Links, and Ask about Me.
Also now user A's manager receive a notification email to take control of user A My Content site before it will be deleleted in 3 days.
Any solution or advice to help me understand how user profile work and prevent this problem is really helpful
