I just was made aware of a weird problem.
we have a list with text columns, lookup columns, etc.
We found that if we open an item and change the value in one of the text fields and save it via inline editing... one of the lookup columns in the item will sometimes copy the lookup value in a preceding or following item in the list.
We don't have workflows or any other functions running to tell the value to copy the other value.

wondering if anyone has seen this happen before, and/or knows how to stop it (we're investigating various methods to basically monitor it...but none address why it is happening.)
