I actually have a client using Sharepoint Server 2010 STD Edition SP1. They have approximately 150 users using it as a content management and enterprise content management system. Their documents are stored in Document Center.
They are actually having an issue with client stations having Windows 7 as OS, Office 2010 as eediting tool. The document opens as read-only. Therefore every time they have to make a change they have to download a copy of the document, make changes to the downloaded copy and upload the document again.
The issue seems to be resolved while install office 2013 as trial, but due to software assurance issues they cannot use office 2013 for time being.
Is there any Patch or configuration we have to do to resolve the situation?
