How to rename a published content type successfully!

A while back we created a document set content type, that contain 4 Content types.

For example.

MyDocumentSet1 Containing MyContentType1, MyContentType2and MyContentType3

We've since had a requirement to remove one of the ContentTypes and rename another, so.

MyDocumentSet1 now contains YourContentType1 and YourContentType2

I've made these changes in the CTHub, republished and started Timer jobs.. And gone to Site Collection to refresh the consumed CTypes.

If I create a new library and use the modified CT then it behaves as expected, the existing library, has recognised that the MyContentType3 has been removed but has not changed the names of the CTypes listed in the New Document menu of the DocumentSet.

I guees my question is  :

Should the Renames be reflected in an existing library that was already using the DocumentSet either in the New Menu, or for the existing documents in the library?!

Any help/advice appreciated !?

Russ
