SharePoint Note Board Web-Part displays unwanted "spaces" in text.

Hi there,

I am currently facing a strange problem where SharePoint is inserting spaces "randomly" after text is typed into the Note Board.

I have tried the following:

1. removed/ Re-added the Web-Part
2. checked Note Boards across all Sites and all behave this way.
3. made sure that text is plain with no formatting applied.

In the attached image see the yellow highlighted sections. Any ideas what is happening here?
