I am using a Sharepoint document library that has a custom content type that uses an Excel spreadsheet template. Within Sharepoint, there is an option to either show or hide the Document Information Panel (DIP) automatically when opening the spreadsheet. I have set that to HIDE. However, when I open the spreadsheet the DIP is open. When I go to the Developer tab, the option to always show the DIP when opening the spreadsheet is checked and grayed out. I can't find a Document property or an Option to turn it off.
I could create a macro that always closes the DIP whenever the spreadsheet opens but it seems like there should be an easier way.
