Administrative ID's in User Profile Database

Scenario: We have several system administrators who have administrative ID’s with a higher level of access than their standard ID’s. These ID’s should not appear in the Profiles database within SharePoint.

Steps Taken:

  1. We have put filters in place to prevent these ID’s from being imported through the user profile sync with AD.
  2. We have put a filter in place using Regular Expressions to prevent these ID’s from appearing in our People Search, in the even they do occur in the Profiles database.

Current Issue: Despite the above steps, some of these administrative ID’s continue to be populated in the Profiles database, causing them to appear in the organizational chart produced by SharePoint Profiles.

Apparent Cause: By design, if a user logs in with one of these administrative ID’s and accesses the Profiles web app, SharePoint places the ID in the Profiles database, bypassing all filters.

Need:

  1. Prevent these ID’s from being added to the Profiles database
  2. Prevent these ID’s from displaying in the org chart, even though they are in the database
  3. Delete these ID’s from the database at a scheduled time.

I'm interested to hear if anyone else has had this issue and if so, how it has been resolved.  Any help is much appreciated.
