Display html from a column

 i am getting html markup from a column in a database , which i am storing  in  publishing html column of the page , initially i though that just by dropping  the page field control of that column will work for me but unfortunately its only throwing back  the html markup tags  ,as it is , i dont know much about html publishing fields ? but how can i display the rendered html whose markup is stored in a column of a page layout .
