How to Turn off the Message panel from Microsoft Word when opening a Document in SharePoint

Hi Guys,

Just need some thoughts on how to actually turn this thing off?

The document is in a document library with setting Required Check out before editing.

Any ideas?

Ultimately, I still need the document to be checked out and checked in.
