We have a SharePoint 2010 site that has had some branding treatment from a third party vendor. For whatever reason, the powers that be ended that relationship some time ago. I have done some InfoPath development on the site, which has resulted in getting me the assignment of doing a branding makeover.
I know enough CSS to do some damage, and have a development site in which to play, but having a hard time getting traction. For example, I identified images used as background URLs and made copies with different colors. When I pointed the CSS to the new images, the background color disappeared altogether. So, I changed the CSS back, renamed the images being used and then renamed my copies to the names in the CSS - but the old colors persist.
I have contacted our administrators to reset IIS, but am not sure what effect, if any, that had since there was a delay of over an hour between the request and the action. It's not practical on a regular basis.
In my paranoid frustration, I have even wondered if the company that did the original work rigged some JavaScript or something to make it hard for anyone but them to work on it.
My inexperience in this makes if difficult to even ask the question intelligently, but if anyone has some thoughts on how to approach this task, I would appreciate it.
