Incorrect Content Type Name Shown on Document Info Panel

Scenario:  A custom content type (let's call it ContentType1) was created (via the SharePoint UI).  A Word template was associate with the content type and the Document Information Panel was customized.  Everything was working like a champ.  The customer asked us to change the name of the content type to ContentTypeA, which we did.  However, when we view existing documents of the content type, the informational blue bar at the top of the Document Information Panel shows the old content type name ("ContentType1 Properties - Server").  The same is true for new documents created using this content type.  I assumed that when you updated the content type name, it would update it for the Document Information Panel (showing "ContentTypeA Properties - Server" and not "ContentType1 Properties - Server").

This is driving me spare and I sure hope someone can help me to figure out what I'm obviously missing.  Any help or insight is appreciated.

Other Info: SharePoint 2010 Server, Office 2007 Suite
